Body of 34-year-old woman found in woods, husband arrested for murder
FAIRFIELD, Maine — The body of a 34-year-old woman who went missing in Fairfield, Maine was found on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of her husband.
Valerie Tieman had been missing for over two weeks before her parents reported her missing to police.
She was last seen on Aug. 30 at Wal-Mart in Skowhegan, Maine. Her husband, Luc Tieman, said that she was last in the couple's pickup truck in the Wal-Mart parking lot. He had gone in the store, and when he came back to the truck, his wife was missing from it, Luc Tieman reported.
State Police took Luc Tieman into custody and charged him with the murder of his wife on Wednesday. Valerie Tieman's body was found in a wooded area in Fairfield behind the house she shared with her husband and parents on Tuesday.
An autopsy is underway at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta, Maine.
