Body found in Merrimack River believed to be Nashua teen who fell down storm drain


NASHUA — Police believe the body found in the Merrimack River in Tyngsborough, Massachuetts is that of a 16-year-old boy who was swept down a storm drain during heavy rain on Friday night.

Police say a positive identification of the body is pending, but based on the clothing description and condition of the body, they believe it is Jacob Goulet.

The teen has been missing since Friday night when he was walking home from his friend's house.

Massachusetts State Police Air Wing told police they spotted a body in the river at 11:45 a.m. State police assisted Nashua police departments, which had been searching the river for a missing person.

Police and fire recovered the body at approximately 12:20 p.m.

The incident is still under investigation.
