Boat sinks in Pleasant Lake; 2 ejected from boat, 1 injured

DEERFIELD — Officials responded to a boating accident where two people had been ejected from their boat on Pleasant Lake in Deerfield on Friday evening.

Officials say that Jeffrey Huntington, 61, of Loudon, was driving his Chris Craft inboard powerboat on the northern side of the lake when the boat began to porpoise as it began to turn, then ejecting him and his wife into the water. The boat sank.

Huntington's wife suffered minor injuries and was brought to Concord hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Jeffery Huntington was not injured.

Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be involved in the accident.

The Department of Environmental Services was notified and they will attempt to remove the vessel on Saturday. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
