Board of visiting nurses affiliates with Dartmouth-Hitchcock

The Associated Press

LEBANON (AP) — The board of the Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire has reached an agreement to become an affiliate of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock health system.

The Valley News reports Dartmouth-Hitchcock will have final say on VNH's financial and programming decisions, management and the composition of its board of directors.

As stipulated by the deal, VNH's board will continue to hold "exclusive control" of allocating the organization's $14 million investment portfolio. But the board will be subordinate to Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Chief Executive James Weinstein says D-H is excited to work with VNH for the "benefit of the people and communities we serve."

The agreement is set to take effect beginning July 1.
