Blowing snow causing accidents on Maine Turnpike near NH border

KITTERY - Blowing snow is being blamed for accidents this morning on Interstate 95 near the Maine/New Hampshire border.

I-95 southbound was closed for a period of time this morning at the state line near Exit 7 in Portsmouth, N.H., as State Police dealt with accidents being blamed on reported whiteout conditions from blowing snow in that area.

For a time, southbound traffic was being diverted off the Interstate in Kittery to avoid the area.

As of 9:30am, New Hampshire State Police had re-opened two lanes of travel on the southbound side of the highway.
