Blind Manchester, NH, teen will get to fulfill wish of making a film

MANCHESTER - The New Hampshire Film Festival is granting the wish of a blind teenager.

Lindsey Vachon suffers from a series of genetic conditions so rare that she is only one of five people in the world who has them.

Vachon, of Manchester, will fulfill her dream of becoming a filmmaker when she participates in the Young Filmmakers Workshop during the New Hampshire Film Festival this weekend in downtown Portsmouth.

Her participation in the YFW is made possible by a scholarship grant given to NHFF from the Seacoast Rotary Club of Portsmouth.

Along with other young participants, Vachon will be put on a team and will help write, produce, act in, direct and edit an original short film that is completed and screened at The Music Hall mainstage during closing night ceremonies on Oct. 19.
