CHARLESTOWN — A bicyclist was killed when he veered in front of a car on Route 12 near the intersection with Route 12A at 4 p.m.

The cyclist was identified as Lance Torrey, 50, of Charlestown. For reasons that are unknown, he veered into the path of an Acura Integra driven by Jeremiah Lawrence, 23, of Claremont. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be involved.
