Berlin woman sends two to hospital in snowmobile collision
BERLIN - A snow mobile accident in Berlin hospitalized two on Friday.
Holly Lacroix, 29 of Berlin, was riding south on Corridor 19 around 5 p.m. when she struck another snow mobile, ejecting the passengers.
Kari Goulet, 33 of Milan, and her daughter were thrown for their snow mobile when struck by Lacroix.
Officials said Lacroix and Goulet were acquaintances and planned on meeting on the trail. Police said Lacroix was riding behind her husband and did not notice he stopped. Lacroix tried to prevent colliding into him when she stopped and swerved into Goulet side-swiping her snowmobile.
Police said Goulet and her daughter suffered arm injuries and driven to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin.
The crash is still under investigation, but police said the main contributing factors appear to be speed and inattention.
