HAMPTON (AP) — Sculptors are coming to New Hampshire's Hampton Beach to start preparing sand for the 16th Master Sand Sculpting competition.

The sculptors are each given their own private plot and 10 tons of sand to work with. Sculptors will be carving June 16-18, with voting and awards given out on the evening of the 18 on the Seashell Stage.

The sculptures will remain on display through July 4th, and will be lit for night viewing.

This year's sponsor site theme is "Under the Sea."

The event has attracted sculptors from as far away as India and the Netherlands. Sculptors will be competing for $15,000 in prize money as well as for the "People's Choice Award."
