Battle of the Badges hockey game draws thousands, raises $210,935 to support CHaD

MANCHESTER - More than $210,000 was raised Saturday night at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) Battle of the Badges Hockey Championship to support the hospital's critical programs.

The ninth annual Battle of the Badges drew in thousands at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester on Saturday, where the "battle of Good vs. Good" has generated nearly $1.7 Million since the games launched in 2008.

The game featured teams of police officers and firefighters entertaining a crowd of over 6,000 people where all money raised goes towards CHaD and its kids.

The total of $210,935, was raised through the generosity of sponsors, fans, and the police and firefighters who each committed to raising a minimum of $1,500 for the honor to play in this yearly New Hampshire sporting and charity event.

This year, Team Police regained the Battle of the Badges trophy with a rousing 12-5 victory over Team Fire.
