Barrington students attending Oyster River High School will receive increased tuition
DURHAM — Barrington students attending Oyster River High School will receive a tuition increase next year.
The Oyster River Cooperative School Board set tuition for the 2017-18 school year at $15,562 per student, a more than five percent increase from the current school year's tuition at $14,776, Fosters reported.
Tuition rates have been based on a formula in the 10-year contract that Barrington and Oyster River voters approved in 2013.
Currently there are 113 Barrington students at Oyster River. The number is expected to increase next year to 138 with 44 freshmen slots.
Next year Oyster River High School will become a school of record and parents will no longer need to cover the difference in tuition.
