Barnstead woman sues woman who backed car over her while she stood in her driveway

LACONIA — A Barnstead woman is suing another woman who backed a car over her in 2013 for negligence in the Belknap County Superior Court.

Documents report that Toni Arditi was standing at the end of her driveway talking to neighbors when Sierra Rollins sped by the group in her car, reports the Laconia Daily Sun.

Arditi gestured for Rollins to slow down on the rural road by use of a downward motion of her arm.

Apparently offended, Rollins threw her car into reverse, and backed towards the group. When giving a statement to police, she said she meant to stomp on the brake, but hit the accelerator instead.

Arditi was unable to dodge the car, and suffered broken limbs and internal injuries. She experienced a stroke during her recovery as well.

She now seeks damages, enhanced damages, litigation fees, and attorney fees.
