Autopsy results released in Dover murder-suicide
DOVER - Autopsies have been completed on a husband and wife that died at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital on Tuesday.
New Hampshire Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval determined that the cause of Katherine Lavoie's death was a single gunshot wound to the head, and her death is ruled a homicide.
Duval found that the cause of Mark Lavoie's death was a single gunshot wound to the head. His death has been ruled a suicide.
Attorney General Joseph A. Foster and Dover Police Chief Anthony F. Colarusso Jr. said based on the investigation, it is believed that Mark Lavoie shot and killed Katherine Lavoie, before committing suicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
