Author James Patterson chooses Concord bookstore clerk for hefty bonus

CONCORD - A clerk at Gibson's Bookstore is going to enjoy an unexpected gift from no one other than best-selling author James Patterson.

Patterson, known for his books featuring fictional forensic psychologist Alex Cross, has reached out to independent book stores to nominate employees for a bonus.

And to many people's surprise, Brian Wallace, an employee at Gibson's Bookstore was chosen for the bonus.

No one knows how much Wallace will receive, but in the past Patterson's checks have ranged from $1,000 to $5,000.
