Attempted burglary caught on camera leads to the arrest of NH man

ROCHESTER — Police respond to an attempted burglary call when a woman reported her security cameras caught a man trying to break into her Rochester home.
According to police, the call came in around 9 a.m. Friday notifying authorities that an attempted burglary was in progress.
The victim said she was notified of the attempt through her phone and quickly checked her security cameras. She reported that her home security system caught a man trying to enter her home, prompting her to call police.
Officers responded to the area immediately but could not locate the suspect.
After reviewing security camera footage, police identified the suspect as Kevin Brochu, 28, of Strafford.
The suspect was riding his bike downtown around 9:45 when police say they stopped and questioned him about the incident, police said.
Based on police investigation, Brochu was allegedly taken into custody for attempted burglary and held on a 72 hour probation violation hold for not checking in with his probation officer.
Police said Brochu was transported to the Strafford County jail where he will remain until his scheduled court date on June 5.
