Attempted abduction in Nashua, 12-year-old boy is safe

NASHUA - A 12-year-old boy told police he ran away from a man who tried to drag him away Friday afternoon, but authorities say he is now safe.

Nashua police said they responded to report of suspicious activity on Lake Street. Police said when they arrived on scene, they spoke with a young boy who told them an older man had grabbed his wrist and attempted to forcibly take him from Lake Street to Balcom Street.

The boy was able to escape and flag down a passer-by who then called the police.

The boy described the man to be in his late 30's wearing a grey sweatshirt, with the hood covering his head, a pair of sunglasses and ripped jeans.

The boy said after he broke free from the man, the man fled east on Lake street. Police said they searched the area but did not find the described suspect.

Authorities are asking anyone who saw a man fitting the description or any suspicious activity, to please contact the Nashua Police department at 594-3500
