Assistant principal of Hampton Academy charged with assault

FREMONT - A Fremont man who is also the assistant principal at Hampton Academy was arrested last week and charged with simple assault.

Police responded to Rowe Drive for a domestic dispute around 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10. They found enough evidence to charge Victor "Vic" Sokul, 65, of assault, said Fremont Police Chief Jon Twiss.

Sokul already had left the residence at the time and was in Newmarket. Fremont Police contacted the Newmarket department and they arrested Sokul.

Sokul was released on $5,000 bail.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Brentwood district court on Dec. 4.

It wasn't immediately known whether any disciplinary action would be taken by SAU 90.
