Arson suspected in Laconia fire after firefighters find gasoline-doused wooden pallet


LACONIA — Firefighters and police believe a fire at the back of a building on 175 Valley St. was an act of arson.

Firefighters extinguished the small fire at 4:14 a.m. on Saturday. All occupants were evacuated without injury.

Investigation led to the discovery of a wooden pallet that had been doused in gasoline, placed against the side of the building, and set on fire.

The fire spread to the siding and burnt a portion of the building before it was put out.

Laconia Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Contact the Laconia Police Department at 524-5252 with information.
