DURHAM - The amount of arrest in the town of Durham are on the rise over the past two years.
In 2014 the amount of arrests for the academic year - which starts from the third week in August through UNH graduation in May - was 340 more than 2013.
In the past 10 years police said that is the largest increase of arrests… that’s a spike of 31%.
Student arrests are significantly higher than non-student arrests with a 60-40% ratio.
In 2014-2015 it was slightly higher with 62% of the people arrested being students and 38% non-students.
