MANCHESTER - Police have made an arrest in the stabbing death at the Drynk nightclub early Saturday morning.
Joel Martin, 26, of Manchester, has been charged with killing 29-year-old Darrell Robinson, also of Manchester.
"At this time he is alleged to have committed second degree murder in that he did recklessly kill Darrell, specifically by stabbing him with a knife," said Asst. Attorney General Benjamin Agati.
Agati said Martin stabbed Robinson with a knife in the torso.
Grieving members of Robinson's family were outside Drynk late Saturday, putting up posters that read "We Love U Uncle Darrell" in addition to the placement of multiple small candles.
Robinson, according to his family, was from Michigan and an inspiring rapper with young children.
Martin, the man accused of killing Robinson, was taken to a Boston hospital for injuries. He was arrested immediately after he was discharged.
The AG's office said two other stabbing victims were treated and released at area hospitals. It was unclear if Martin was involved in those altercations.
Martin is due to be arraigned as a fugitive from justice at Boston Municipal Court on Monday, May 11.
Manchester police responded to the 20 Granite Street club at 1 a.m., where they found Robinson bleeding from a stab wound to his torso. He was taken to Elliott Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say witnesses reported the man was assaulted by another patron during an altercation inside the club.
The Manchester Police Department and the Attorney General's office are continuing to investigate.
Agati said detectives are also seeking any available videos or photos from inside the club at the time of the assault.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Manchester Police Department at 603-668-8711, or call the Manchester Police Crimeline at 603-624-4040.
