Arraignment for Manchester mom facing charges after kids found living in filth postponed

MANCHESTER — A Manchester mom's arraignment scheduled for Wednesday morning was postponed after her attorney, Kristen Weber, withdrew from the case. Samantha Grenier, 27, will be appointed another attorney and will likely be arraigned in the next couple weeks.

Grenier is facing several charges including criminal restraint, reckless conduct and endangering the welfare of a child after her two children were found living in filth at their father's apartment in December of 2016. Grenier's four-year-old son was found in a harness attached to the bed, which was covered in feces and urine, police said; the two-year-old sister was found in a crib unclothed and covered in feces.

Grenier failed to show up for a June 7 hearing and was arrested in Spring Hill, Florida days later. She was extradited back to New Hampshire and now faces additional charges.

26-year-old James Grenier was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty for his role in the abuse.
