Armed, wanted NH man tries to grab officer's gun during arrest in Manchester
MANCHESTER — Police struggled with a wanted man armed with a stolen gun who attempted to grab an officer's weapon during an arrest in the Queen City Wednesday.
Police say an officer on patrol about 4:18 p.m. spotted a man near the Hillsboro Market who was wanted on a warrant by Concord police.
The officer approached the man, later identified as Tyler Twombly, 32, of Manchester. The officer attempted to arrest Twombly, who resisted and attempted to grab the officer's holstered gun.
Another officer arrived and noticed that Twombly himself had a gun tucked into his waistband. The officer knocked Twombly to the ground while assisting in the arrest.
A third officer arrived to help, and Twombly was eventually tasered before he was subdued and placed into custody.
Police say Twombly's own gun was reported stolen from Auburn. He was also found possessing controlled substances.
In addition to the original charges from the Concord Police Department, Twombly was charged with resisting arrest, taking of law enforcement officer's firearm, criminal threatening, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of controlled drug.
