'Armed and dangerous' man sought in Epping

EPPING - Police are actively searching for a man considered armed and dangerous following a domestic dispute where a gunshot was heard early this morning.

Police are looking for 25-year-old Christopher Lemear. He's described as being 6 foot 1 inches tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, with a tattoo on his upper right arm, according to the state's Registration of Criminal Offenders. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and plaid pajama bottoms and has a beard and thin build, Epping Police said.

He was convicted in 2009 in Hillsborough County on charges of burglary and felonious sexual assault, according to state records.

Police believe Lemear is armed and dangerous and should not be approached by the public. He was last seen in the area of Old Nottingham Road shortly before midnight. Police urge anyone who sees Lemear or has contact with him to contact Epping Police at (603) 679-5122.

The area of Old Nottingham Road near Grassy Lane will be closed while the investigation continues. Traveling motorist should seek alternate routes.
