Another major New England drug bust: 2,152 bags of heroin seized, 8 dealers arrested


There's been another major New England dug bust.

A heroin investigation led the arrest of eight drug dealers in Springfield, Mass., on Tuesday, police said.

The drug raid led to the seizure of 2,152 bags of heroin packaged for sale, $4,344 in cash, seven Suboxone Strips, instuments used to package and distribute heroin, and a knife that was used to assault officers, police said.

Police said a suspects attacked the officers with the knife as they were serving the search warrant.

The arrests

Buena Ventura Mota, 42; Joseph Giordano, 56; Ramon Garcia-Delacruz, 47; and Jose Oscar Mota Zorilla, 45; all of Springfield, Mass., were charged with three counts of distribution of heroin and trafficking of heroin - 36-100 grams. Garcia-Delacruz was also charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon to wit: knife, for allegedly assaulting the detectives.

Amber Boron, 20, was charged with possession of heroin - 10 bags and possession of suboxone.

Marquez Concepcion, 46, was charged with possession of heroin - 12 bags, and two charges for default warrants.

Shawn Todd Loughman, 23, was charged with possession of heroin - 12 bags.

Julio Cesar Nazario, 47, was charged with distribution of heroin and possession of heroin.

Police also requested a complaint issue for Pedro Hernandez, 58, for possession of heroin with intent to distribute 196 bags and possession of suboxone.
