AMR: Nashua sees decrease in reported opioid overdoses for November
NASHUA — Nashua has seen a decrease of the number of suspected opioid overdoses reported in the past month.
In November, 30 overdoses - two of which were fatal- were reported by the American Medical Response (AMR). This is a decrease from October which had 47 reports - seven of which were fatal.
2016 has surpassed the amount of reported opioid overdoses in 2015.
So far in 2016 there have been 342 reported overdoses, almost 100 more than 2015. Out of these overdoses, 37 were fatal.
Out of the reported 2016 overdoses, 61 percent were of males and 39 percent were of females.
In total, about 1,400 milligrams of Narcan was administered by fire and AMR from 2015 to 2016.
