Amherst woman charged with stealing merchandise from Nashua retailer and selling it online

NASHUA - An Amherst woman was been charged with stealing more than $20,000 in merchandise from the Sports Authority and selling the items online.

Carol Koehler, 49, of 112A Ponemah Road, faces a felony charge of theft by unauthorized taking. According to police, they received a report about an internal theft on Wednesday morning from Sports Authority at 213 Daniel Webster Highway.

Loss prevention officers for the business said they had been reviewing inventory logs and monitoring online resale sites for items that may have been stolen from the store. Their investigation led them to Koehler, who allegedly stole clothing, electronics and other merchandise from the store between 2013 and 2016 and sold them online for profit.

Police took Koehler into custody that afternoon. She was released no $10,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on March 23.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Crime Line at (603)-589-1665.
