Amended teachers contract ratified, headed back to Nashua Board of Aldermen
NASHUA — The Board of Education has once again ratified the agreement regarding some revision to a proposed contract for city teachers.
The tentative agreement was previously ratified by the union and the school board in September, but there were some amendments recently made to the document that was once again ratified last week, according to The Union Leader. The agreement must be brought before the Board of Aldermen.
About 30 articles have been changed, several being a significant modification of the contract, Sandra Ziehm, president of the Board of Education, told the UL.
The contract for city teachers officially expired on Aug. 31. The new contract, if approved, will end in August of 2017.
Until the aldermen approve the revisions, members of the union have temporarily resigned from dristrict committees.
