After social media response, NH heroin dealer found in Maine


PORTSMOUTH - A suspected Portsmouth heroin dealer on the run has been caught and arrested in Maine, thanks in large part to the community's social media response.

Amanda Burgess was arrested in Cherryfield, Maine, and taken into custody by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department Monday morning.

She is waiting be arraigned.

Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Burgess on Monday.

The Portsmouth Police credited information received through Seacoast Crime Stoppers, the Portsmouth Police Department’s Facebook page and from the residents of Gosling Meadows.

A post on NH1 News Network's Facebook page, alone, was shared about 800 times.
