Affordable family friendly dining at CC Tomatoes in Concord

New Hampshire Restaurant Reviews

One day several years ago, we were driving on Fisherville Road in Concord and noticed some construction on the side of the road. Initially my wife thought it was going to be an office building but as I looked over I was guessed that it might be a new restaurant. As the weeks passed, we realized that I was right and that it was a restaurant called CC Tomatoes.

Thinking back to our first visit I have to laugh. I ordered the dish rigatoni abruzzi and as the waiter approached the table with our meals he yelled out at the top of his lungs "Rrrriiiiiiggggattttonniiiii Abbbbbbrruuuuuzzzzzziiiii" much to our surprise. While I was amused by his enthusiasm, my wife looked at if she was about to crawl under the table. However, we both agreed that we liked the food. Since that time, we've become regulars and enjoy their affordable Italian food in a relaxed environment. Given that I hadn't done a review yet I figured that it was about time.

Owner, Doug Dow, seems to be more of a back of the house type of person who has focused the restaurant on what he does best, food. In addition to delicious brick oven pizza and calzones, you will find all of your Italian favorites from spaghetti & meatballs, to chicken Marsala and shrimp scampi. If you are in the mood for something other than Italian he has plenty of other options for you to choose from. One of my favorites is the tuscan grilled steak tips served with roasted rosemary potatoes. All of the meals come with their delicious homemade rolls (made from the pizza dough) and soup or salad.

On this particular evening, we opted to start with a cup of the cream of chicken soup which was full of chicken and vegetables and had a nice thick broth.

My entree selection was the CC Limone:

Rigatoni is mixed in a light lemon cream sauce with chicken and broccoli. This is one I routinely order and I always enjoy this dish.

My wife's choice was the pasta prima rossa to which she added broccoli.

This dish is very tasty as the sauce is a combination of Alfredo sauce with tomato with pieces of chicken. As you can see, the portion size is large and there's usually plenty to take home for another meal.

Our waitress, Megan, provided excellent service. She is always upbeat, smiling, and has a positive attitude which I think goes a long way to making a wonderful experience for her guests.

We strongly recommend CC Tomatoes for their affordable family friendly dining.
