It's called Fitbit. It's an activity tracker that tracks everything from your steps, how many minutes a day you're active, calories burned and even your sleep patterns.
Fitbit just released state-by-state stats on step counts. It compares winter to summer to see how the weather impacts our exercise routines.
Every state sees a step count drop in winter. New Hampshire saw the biggest drop-off. Average steps fell more than 15% in the cold months. In Chicago, even with its brutal winters, people still find ways to keep moving there.
New Yorkers stay active despite the snow. They top the most active places in the winter. Check out the top ten. Massachusetts ranked 6th. A lot of other states that see snow made the list including Minnesota, in fifth place.
Highest summer step count:
1. New York
8. New Hampshire
