Accident in Manchester, NH, takes out 2 utility poles, closes road

MANCHESTER - Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, where a driver allegedly became distracted by her dog.

Holly Jubrey, 60, was driving west around 10:12 a.m. on Varney Street before crashing and knocking down two telephone poles, police said.

PSNH had to temporarily disconnect power, so she and her dogs could be extracted from her vehicle, police said.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, police said. Jubrey was treated for neck pain at a local hospital, but the injuries did not appear to be serious.

The road will most likely be closed for the remainder of the day while emergency crews replace two telephone poles and reconnect power.

The investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed.
