HOOKSETT - Cars were backed up for more than 20 miles from the Hooksetts tolls south as holiday traffic and accidents created problems for people heading north on Interstate 93 for the weekend.
At about 3:30 p.m., traffic was already backed up 21 miles on Route 93 northbound in the Hooksett area.
Now traffic is backing up on the southbound side after an accident north of Exit 5 on the Londonderry/Manchester line led to a request for two helicopters to evacuate the injured, leading police to ask people to avoid the highway and find alternate routes.
