MANCHESTER - Wednesday afternoon Kelley Paul took to the floor of her husband's presidential campaign headquarters in Manchester.
"Early on, I want people to get to know me and Rand just more as people," Paul said of her goal on the campaign trail.
Paul said she makes family time a priority despite the dizzying pace of presidential politics.
"One of the ways that I try to is just to make sure that we do have downtime and that we have family time just back home in Bowling Green," she said.
Outside the home, some have called Paul her husband's secret weapon in politics.
"I do have a background in corporate communications, and I like to give speeches and I've written a book," she said. " I think that people saw me being perhaps more visible than some other spouses and made that comment."
Will that help her husband in his quest for the White House?
Paul said it is a wait and see.
"I always say I'm not ready to measure the drapes yet. This is a marathon and not a sprint."
