9-year-old boy with leg pinned in tree rescued using jaws of life

MANCHESTER - Fire crews responded to a call near Parkside Middle School around 6:30 p.m. for a 9-year-old boy whose leg was stuck in a tree.

The boy climbed the tree to see the fire department’s response to another call.

The boy fell and his leg became wedged between two branches.

Fire crews used the jaws of life to spread the two branches apart and free the boy.

This took about 20 minutes.

The boy had bruising and his mother planned on taking him to the doctors.
