83-year-old woman hit while crossing Concord road on Halloween dies from injuries

CONCORD — A pedestrian crossing Loudon Road on Halloween died in the hospital from injuries sustained after being hit by a car.

Marianne Sharp, 66 of Contoocook, was driving west on Loudon Road when she struck Yvonne Burroughs, 83 of Concord. Burroughs was conscious and speaking when officers arrived and was later transported to Concord Hospital with multiple injuries to her head and body.

Initial indications showed that Burroughs was not in a pedestrian crosswalk nor was there any crosswalk/traffic signal in the area at the time of the incident. Tuesday police were informed that Burroughs' condition had worsened as a result of injuries sustained from the accident.

Wednesday morning the department was notified that Burroughs had passed away as a result of those injuries. Police are still actively investigating the incident.

Anyone that witnessed or has information about the accident is asked to contact Officer Christian Lovejoy or Detective Michael Cassidy at 603-225-8600.
