7-year-old ejected from ATV, sent to Cheshire Medical Center for serious injuries

ALSTEAD - Authorities said a 7-year-old boy was transported to a Hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries after he was ejected from an ATV.

N.H. Fish and Game Conservation Officer said late Saturday night Cody Croteau, 31 of Bellows Falls, Vermont, was operating a friends ATV when he lost control of the vehicle when going down a hill.

A 7-year-old from Alstead was thrown from the ATV.

Police said he is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene.

Authorities said the accident is under investigation, but operator inexperience, an unsafe speed, and possible mechanical failure are believed to be some of the factors that contributed to the accident.
