SANDOWN— A 68-year-old man will be riding his bicycle for the next month- ending up all the way down in Florida by early October.

Jerry LaChance, a Vietnam war veteran and volunteer firefighter of 22 years, began his journey Sunday morning in Lancaster and doesn't plan on stopping until he hits Key West, Fl.

LaChance is cycling to benefit Ride 2 Recovery and the foundation's injured veterans. His goal was to raise $10,000 and just two days into his journey he had already raised over $11,000. Their new goal is $12,000.

LaChance will be staying at local fire houses along the way. To check out his projected route or donate, you can visit his trip website.
