6 percent of NH adults have prediabetes, report says

Health officials released the new data from a survey and found that nearly 60,000 adults in the state - or 6 percent – have been told they had prediabetes.

According to the report, it was twice as common in overweight and older adults.

Research shows two things can help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes: losing five to seven percent of your body weight and getting at least 2 ½ hours of physical activity each week.
