6 fatal crashes in NH over Columbus Day weekend, 102 so far in 2016


The number of fatal crashes in 2016 has surpassed the 2015 count.

Over Columbus Day weekend, six fatal crashes occurred, killing seven people in Colebrook, Tamworth, Nashua, Henniker, Stoddard and Manchester.

So far in 2016 there have been 102 fatal crashes, with 106 people dying in those crashes.

In 2015, there were 74 deadly crashes with 82 people who died.

State police say the biggest reason for the crashes are impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and people not wearing a seatbelt.
