500 pounds of pet food reported stolen from animal shelter in Bedford

BEDFORD - More than 500 pounds of dog and cat food was reported stolen from the Animal Rescue League of NH.

The nonprofit said the outside door to its pet food pantry was ripped off its hinges at some point overnight, and the shelves were cleared out. Dry pet food and dog treats were among the items taken. The tool shed also was broken into, but nothing appeared to be removed, they said.

Anyone with any information about this break-in is asked to call the Bedford Police Department at 603-472-5113.

The League is asking community members who are able to help replace the stolen food, to bring donations of dry dog food, dry cat food, and dog treats today Sunday up until 5 p.m. or after 9 a.m. on Monday.
