MANCHESTER— One woman and four men were arrested on prostitution charges in and another person is facing a drug charge following an overnight sting in the Queen City.
Manchester police say the first two arrests occurred at 4:39 p.m. near Manchester and Union streets. A plain clothes officer was standing on the sidewalk when she was approached by two men in a Toyota 4Runner. The men asked her to exchange money for sex, so she told them to pick her up in a designated location near Beech Street. She notified a marked police unit to stop the vehicle.
The two men were identified as; Olvin Lazo Miranda, 27 and Mercedes Delgado, 47 both of Manchester. The two were charged with prostitution and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. They are set to appear in Manchester district court July 26.
A third arrest occurred at 6 p.m. in the area of Union Street and Manchester Street. A plain clothes officer was standing on the sidewalk when a Kia sports utility vehicle pulled up next to her and Walter Loan, 52, of Northfield asked her “how much?” The officer ultimately arrested him for soliciting sex for money after he was stopped by a marked police car.

A fourth arrest was made at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday when an undercover officer was flagged down by Alicia Dubois, 30, of Manchester, on Manchester Street near Pine Street. He stopped his vehicle and engaged in a conversation about exchanging money for sexual favors. Dubois agreed to the exchange of sex for money, so she got into the detective's vehicle. A marked police cruiser pulled them over at the intersection of Merrimack and Lincoln streets where Dubois was arrested without incident.
Dubois was charged with prostitution and released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. Dubois is scheduled to appear in Manchester district court on July 26.

They agreed on exchanging money for sex, and police said he was subsequently arrested and charged with prostitution.
De La Cruz Peralta was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and scheduled to appear in Manchester district court July 26.
Additionally, one of the undercover officers was working in a plain clothes capacity for the prostitution operation when a male subject offered to sell her heroin, police said. The officer followed him to Monadnock Lane where he met with a second subject, identified as Michael Simoneau, 30, of Greenville.
The detective watched the two men as they separated in the alley. Detectives stopped both men and later arrested Simoneau for possession of a controlled drug after they located .5 grams of crystal methamphetamine on him.
The other individual, Kenneth Kirkpatrick, 30, of Manchester, was not charged in the incident.
Simoneau also was charged with violation of bail and violation of probation/parole. He is scheduled to appear in Manchester district court on Thursday.
