36,000 individually-wrapped Kraft cheese cases recalled after choking reports

Packages of the individually-wrapped cheese slices have been pulled from the shelves.

More than 36,000 cases of Kraft Singles were recalled because of a possible choking hazard caused by the plastic wrapping.

According to, the recall included 3 and 4 pound packages of American and white American slices with a ‘best if used by’ date between December 2015 and January 2016. Also, the packages will have a manufacturing code of “S54” or “S55.”

Kraft said three choking reports have been associated with the cheese singles.

Anyone with a package affected in the recall should return it to the store for an exchange.
