30 rescuers help injured hiker in Thornton
THORNTON - About 30 rescuers were called into help removing a hiker with a leg injury Friday.
The hiker was injured approximately 2 miles up the Welch-Dickey Trail at approximately 5 p.m., officials said. Crews from several area departments, including Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue, Waterville Valley Fire Rescue, New Hampshire Fish and Game and Pemi Valley Search and Rescue, hiked into the woods for the rescue and brought the hiker to safety about 9:45 p.m.
The hiker was taken to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth.
