3 people, dog die from crash on Spaulding Turnpike in Milton
MILTON - Three people have died in a two-car crash on the Spaulding Turnpike in Milton.
State Police say the crash happened Thursday around 8:15 p.m. According to police, a Jeep Liberty driven by 57-year-old Victoria Rose, of Revere, Mass., was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line and struck a Subaru Outback driven by 31-year-old Allison Smith, of Portsmouth.
Rose was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Liberty was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester for serious injuries. A dog in that car had to be put down.
Smith was pronounced dead at the hospital. One of her passengers, 31-year-old Vanessa Cox, of Boston, was taken to Maine Medical Center but later died from her injuries. A second passenger in the Subaru sustained serious injuries but is stable.
The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is still investigating.
The accident closed the roadway for around four hours.
