3 people arrested on multiple drug charges in Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH — Police arrested three individuals on multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth on Saturday.
N.H. State Police said they arrested Abigail Webb, 21 of Monmouth, Maine, Ryan Bridges, 35 of Augusta, Maine, and Jeremy Francis, 27 of Groton, New York, after stopping a 2017 GMC Envoy being driven by Webb for a speed violation.
During the stop, the officer became suspicious that there were drugs in the vehicle, and after receiving consent to search the vehicle, he discovered what was believed to be marijuana. Webb was consequently arrested and charged with misdemeanor transportation of a controlled drug.
Police said Bridges was found to be in possession of what they believed to be heroin, crack cocaine, MDMA and several prescription pills. He was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled drug.
Police said they believed Francis was concealing drugs on his person. After receiving a warrant, police said they found a quantity of what they believed to be heroin and crack cocaine hidden in his clothing. Francis was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.
Webb is due to appear in Portsmouth District Court on April 3, and Bridges and Francis are scheduled to be arraigned in the Rockingham County Superior Court on February 6.
