3 injured in Gilford crash,1 thrown from vehicle as it rolls
GILFORD - Police say a 23-year-old driver was thrown from his car after it crashed on Cherry Valley Road, flipping over several times before coming to rest around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Police say the driver, who is from Gilford, remains in an induced coma at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Two passengers, a 22-year-old man from Belmont and a 22 -year-old woman from Laconia also were injured, but were able to crawl out of the car, a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer, before rescuers arrived. They were taken to Lakes Region General Hospital and the man has since been released, police said.
Police say speed does appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Names have not been released to allow time for police to notify family members.
