3 in Pittsfield arrested on drug charges following multi-agency investigation


PITTSFIELD - Three people were arrested on drug-related charges after a month's long investigation involving the Pittsfield and Chichester police departments along with the Merrimack County Sheriff's Office and the state drug task force.

Those arrested are:

Charles Schapperle, 28, charged with three counts of unlawful sale of heroin.

Catherine Gagne, 41, charged with three counts of unlawful sale of heroin, and possession of heroin. Police say at the time of her arrest, she was out on bail for multiple prior charges brought by the Pittsfield and Salem police.

David Lake, 58, charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug.

Schapperle and Gagne were being held at the Merrimack County jail on $20,000 cash bail. Lake was held on $10,000 cash bail. All three are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in the Concord District Court.
