3 arrested after Manchester traffic stop leads to seizure of 3 pounds of marijuana, gun

MANCHESTER - A traffic stop early Monday morning led to the arrests of three city men after three pounds of marijuana and a handgun were found in the car.
Manchester police said they pulled over the car after the driver - Mikhail Zvonarev, 24 - failed to use a turn signal. As police approached they said the smell of marijuana was easily detected.
The owner of the car - Nawif Mohamad, 21, who was in the passenger seat - gave the police permission to search the car.
Police said a large trash bag containing three pounds of marijuana was next to the passenger in the backseat - Jason Lavigne, 25. A handgun was also found next to Mohamad in the front seat, they said.
The three men were arrested and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
The marijuana has a street value of $6,000-9,000, according to the police.
Zvonarev was charged with transportation of controlled drug and possession with intent to sell. Mohamad was charged with felonious use of a firearm, carrying without a license and possession with intent to sell. Lavigne was charged with possession with intent to sell and contempt of court for missing a recent court date for a separate offense.
