$26,000 worth of heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine seized in Manchester drug bust

MANCHESTER — Members of Manchester's Special Enforcement Division located and seized thousands of dollars worth of cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin in the city on Thursday.

The Queen City is home to thousands who have seen the city's crimes spiral out of control.

"Daily shootings, and drug arrests, and overdoses," says one woman who didn't want to be named. She says she has lived in the city for many years and "every day something's happening now."

After a two month-long drug investigation, police arrested Victoria Dubbe, of Manchester, and Dshawn Collins, of Springfield, Massachusetts, on Thursday for having over $2,600 worth of drugs in their possession.

"I've lived all over the country and I have never seen anything like I've seen in the city of Manchester," says Becca who refused to tell NH1 her last name.

These arrests come just days after the NH House voted against funding Operation Granite Hammer, a Manchester-based program that puts more police on the streets to buckle-down on the flow of illegal drugs. Although the house is having a meeting about drug take-down, some still feel the current problems is causing a bad reputation for the city.

"This is the worst city I've ever lived in when it comes to drugs," Becca said. "They're everywhere and they're killing a lot of people."

Others say Manchester isn't the only place dealing with a drug problem.

"I think it's all over the place, I live in Massachusetts and I work up here and the same kinda thing is on the news all the time down there," said Bob Sciaudone.

Even though the city seems to have been getting a lot of negative attention lately, some are just happy the suspected dealers have been caught.

"Well they weren't successful, were they?," asked one man as he put his thumbs up that the police got the suspects Thursday. "More power to the law enforcement."

Dubbe and Collins appeared in the 9th District Court in Manchester and are facing multiple charges for the intent to distribute about 162 grams of crack cocaine, 42 grams of cocaine and about 65 grams of heroin.
