250 drivers screened, 3 arrested at Portsmouth sobriety checkpoint

PORTSMOUTH — A sobriety checkpoint conducted by the Portsmouth Police Department left three people arrested after screening 250 drivers.

The checkpoint was conducted at 1190 Lafayette Road between 10 p.m. on Friday and 3 a.m on Saturday.

George Hendrickson, 24 of Portsmouth, was arrested for possession of a controlled drug - marijuana. He was released on a personal recognizance bail with a court date of Oct. 24.

Brian Tash, 36 of Stafford, was arrested for operating after suspension. He was released on a personal recognizance bail with a court date of Oct. 24.

Steven Marshall, 46 of Portsmouth, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was released on a $750 personal recognizance bail with a court date of Sept. 19.
